What will USAID focus on at this year’s UN General Assembly?

For two weeks each September, the world gathers in New York City for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Why does this gathering matter? It brings together presidents, prime ministers, civil society leaders, the private sector, and philanthropic partners providing them an opportunity to address the most pressing global challenges facing us today.

This year marks an important milestone as participants gather once again in-person since the COVID-19 pandemic. The world is still struggling to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as fighting other epidemics. With the future of democracy and our planet under threat, as we fight the climate crisis, and  face unprecedented complex challenges, all eyes will be on UNGA Sept. 13-27.

USAID is ready to tackle the multiple crises we face, being responsive to our partners and advancing a healthier, safer, and more prosperous world.
