ENN’s 65th issue of Field Exchange was published in May 2021.

This edition features a range of articles that describe programming experiences across a number of contexts. We include a special section on COVID-19 nutrition programming adaptations including around infant feeding in emergencies, articles that explore nutrition data for decision making, treatment of wasting at scale and multi-sector programming.

The examples of multi-sector programming, all from South Asia, show some positive directions but also reflect the complexity of undernutrition and the difficulties of addressing its multiple causes to achieve nutrition impact.

The work on simplified approaches to treat wasting is also explored in this edition and remaining unanswered questions in this area are highlighted. As the FEX 65 editorial notes, “it takes courage but also requires care to act ‘outside the box’…as with the COVID adaptations, we should not shy away from innovation and change, but be willing to take steps back as well as forward when it is right to do so.”

This 5 minute video aims to provide an overview of this content.
