The Global Nutrition Clusters technical assistance platform – The GNC Technical Alliance – is excited to announce its new co-lead.

For the last two years, World Vision International fulfilled the important role of co-lead, helping to advance the Technical Alliance’s mission of delivering top-quality Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) technical support to nutrition actors worldwide.

From September, Save the Children International will be stepping into this role to co-lead alongside UNICEF – the cluster lead agency for nutrition. Save the Children International will work in close coordination with the UNICEF Programme Group and the Alliance Leadership Team to drive the GNC vision to enhance coverage and quality of nutrition preparedness, response and recovery and strengthen the partnership network and NiE technical capacity of partners. They will also play a key role in strengthening strategic partnerships within the nutrition sector through networking and advocacy.

Expressions of Interest were requested from international NGOs and organizations had two weeks to apply. Save the Children was selected based on their extensive knowledge of the sector and over 50 years of experience implementing nutrition programming globally.

Megan Gayford, the Technical Alliance’s UNICEF co-lead, shared:

“World Vision International has been a committed and thoughtful partner the last two years, and have helped shape the Alliance into the success it is today. Colleen Emary – World Vision International’s co-lead – was particularly strategic and really steady as we navigated key strategic changes within the Technical Alliance. I believe Save the Children International will continue building on their great work and are uniquely positioned to carry the Technical Alliance forward into the future.”
