GNC-CT hired a Knowledge Management Specialist

Judith Hodge took up her role as Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist with the GNC-CT team in January 2021. She has a masters’ degree in Public Health Nutrition and over 12 years’ experience in both global and UK-based nutrition projects, with a focus on delivering nutrition research and ‘stories’ to a wider audience, curating and disseminating knowledge across all platforms (on and offline). She had a previous career in publishing.

Judith has worked as Nutrition Communications & KM consultant for the UN Network for the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, documenting experiences of UN agency collaboration at regional and country level during its transition to UN Nutrition. She was co-editor of ENN publication, Nutrition Exchange (NEX), developing regional themed issues in collaboration with UNICEF ROSA, on maternal nutrition and improving diets of young children. She wrote ENN’s Story of Change on developing the Operational Guidance on Infant Feeding in Emergencies; and provided KM support to the SUN Secretariat during the Global Gathering (2019) in Nepal, editing a special SUN GG issue of NEX. Judith led the national comms/global uptake for the first Global Nutrition Report (2014), coordinating launch events in five countries. She has also consulted for IFPRI, FAO, CARE and Welthungerhilfe, among others, on various writing, research and communications’ projects.

In her new position, Judith will be leading work on strengthening the development, documentation and dissemination of the GNC’s KM products, including technical guidance and learning, to ensure consistency in content, presentation and timeliness. She is responsible for facilitating dissemination of the GNC’s KM products with its internal and external audience, and for developing the organization’s outreach via social media (Twitter etc.) and other channels (GNC newsletter), including oversight of the GNC website. Judith is also coordinating and supporting the development of the GNC global strategy (2022-2025) and update the GNC Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
