Hello, I’m Alice Burrell, the MAMI (management of small and nutritionally at-risk infants <6months and mothers) Advisor for the GNC.

I am motivated by improving the support we as humanitarian agencies provide to the youngest and most vulnerable in the communities we serve – who are often missed and not supported to thrive and survive. Since 2014 I have been working on humanitarian responses across Europe, Africa and Asia largely focused on infant and young child feeding in emergencies (IYCF-E). Since 2018, I have been also working on MAMI supporting the implementation of the C-MAMI Tool (now the MAMI Care Pathway) with Save the Children Bangladesh, GOAL Ethiopia and currently with Save the Children in a number of countries as their global MAMI Advisor.

I am excited to be part of the GNC Team for MAMI, to support more organisations to implement the MAMI Care Pathway to build global experiences and knowledge of what works for an evolving and crucial area of support within health and nutrition. In 2021, I have so far supported IRC, GOAL and ADRA with adaptation and implementation of the MAMI Care Pathway and look forward to working with many more organisations.
