The Sphere handbook is under revision through a consultative process that will culminate in a new edition to be launched in February 2018. The GNC supports Save the Children USA in the revision of nutrition standards in the Food Security and Nutrition Chapter.

The first draft of the revised standards is now open for public consultations, and we herewith invite you to share your feedback.

In case you are interested in reading other chapters of the handbook and provide your comments/inputs, please download them here. As you provide feedback on the nutrition standards, we request that you keep the following questions in mind:

  • Should any of the standards, indicators, thresholds, etc. be changed?
  • Are any of the standards, indicators, thresholds, etc. inappropriate?
  • Do you have any suggestions for any of the missing indicators, thresholds, etc?
  • Do you know of studies or other evidence in support of specific standards, indicators, or thresholds?
  • What additional, specific information should be included, either in the main text or as appendices?
  • Do you have any infographics, diagrams, or other graphics that could be used to illustrate the main points of the text?

We also invite you to respond to this online survey on key technical issues which emerged during the review process. If you are interested in nutrition related questions only, please skip through to the section ‘Food Security and Nutrition’ in the survey.

The deadline for submitting feedback through the Sphere portal and the online survey is 31st May 2017. If you would like to submit your input directly via mail, please send it to nutrition@sphereproject.org copying pwasike@savechildren.org, by 9th June 2017.

Your feedback is appreciated.
