New Field Exchange Issue – Special Nutrition Coordination edition

Categories: News / No CommentsPosted on: January 15, 2018

“We are delighted to share Issue 56 of Field Exchange, a special thematic edition focused on nutrition cluster coordination experiences. Over the last year, in collaboration with the Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC), the Field Exchange editorial team has supported Nutrition Cluster Country Coordinators, the Technical Rapid Response Team and GNC coordination team members to unpack and document their experiences in the form of field articles. We are delighted to share a rich resource that is testament to the frontline and collective work of the Nutrition Cluster. The issue is dedicated to the memory of Leo Matunga, Nutrition Cluster Coordinator, who died in May 2017.

The edition reflects the progression of the GNC from a focus in the early days on development of tools, materials and research to a much greater emphasis on strengthening country coordination and providing surge support to secure appropriate and high-quality nutrition programming in emergency contexts. The development of strong strategic partnerships has also been a critical development. Despite the enormous progress made by and through the cluster, there are still significant challenges, articulated in a guest editorial by Josephine Ippe, GNC Coordinator, and Carmel Dolan, ENN Technical Director and GNC Strategic Advisory Group member.
We welcome feedback on this edition, letters to the editor, and suggestions for articles for future issues on any aspect of programming relevant to nutrition in emergencies, fragile and conflict affected states, and high burden contexts. Field Exchange 57, is due out late March 2018 and issue 58 will be produced in September. Keep an eye on our webpage for updates on timelines and deadlines. A guide to writing for Field Exchange is available here. Send your ideas or articles to: Chloe Angood.

We produce Field Exchange in two formats: A4 for easy ‘home’ printing and a larger format print edition mailed to subscribers. All individual articles are archived online.

All the field articles will be available in French by end of March 2018, in collaboration with Translators without Borders and their amazing network of volunteers

If you also receive print copy, this will soon be arriving to you. Please make sure your mailing and contact details are correct by reviewing them here.

Happy reading!
