RRT

The Global Nutrition Cluster (GNC) has commissioned an independent review of the surge support provided by the GNC to National Coordination Platforms. The primary focus is on the Rapid Response Team (RRT) mechanism but the evaluation will also consider the in-country support provided by the core team of the GNC as well.  In 2013, the simultaneous triggering of three L3 emergencies by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (the humanitarian crisis in Syria, the Philippines, South Sudan and the Central African Republic) in addition to other emergencies (in Somalia, Mali, Chad, Afghanistan, etc.) put the GNC under extreme pressure to provide surge support to National Nutrition Coordination Platforms. The last year therefore constitutes an excellent opportunity to review the support that the GNC was able to provide and to appraise its relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.

The final report is expected by the end of December 2014.
