The FAO toolkit is an integrated package of guidance on how to design, implement, monitor and evaluate nutrition-sensitive food and agriculture policies and programmes. It is the result of a consultative process within FAO and with external partners, including development partners (in particular the World Bank and the European Commission), NGOs and academia. For more information, see http://www.fao.org/nutrition/policies-programmes/toolkit/en/ or below invitation to the launch on 19 April in Rome.
|The Economic and Social Development Department cordially invites you to a launch event:|
19 April 2017 | 12:00 – 13:00 hrs. Sheikh Zayed Centre
Join us to discover FAO’s toolkit and e-learning module on nutrition-sensitive food systems!
Moderator: Anna Lartey, Director, Nutrition and Food Systems Division, ESN
Daniel J. Gustafson, Deputy Director-General Programmes, DDP
Kazumi Ikeda Larhed, Deputy Director, Partnerships, Advocacy and Capacity Development Division, OPC
Charlotte Dufour, Nutrition Officer, ESN
Domitille Kauffmann, Nutrition Consultant, ESN
The toolkit and e-learning modules have been developed by ESN in close collaboration with OPC, drawing upon expertise from across the organization and of many partners (incl. EU, WB, UN agencies, NGOs, academia).
They are important resources for scaling up country and regional efforts to build capacities for the formulation, implementation and monitoring of nutrition-sensitive food system policies and programmes, in line with the Rome Declaration on Nutrition, the SDGs and UN Decade of Action for Nutrition. They are also important internal assets
for corporate efforts to mainstream nutrition in FAO’s Strategic Framework.
We look forward to seeing you at this official launch event. For our colleagues in Decentralized Offices, the event will be webcast on http://intranet.fao.org/stream/?id=4333.
